Possible Reasons for Card Transaction Failure

Why Your Raenest USD Virtual Card Transaction May Fail

There are several reasons why a card transaction might fail. Below are the most common ones and how to avoid them:

1. Insufficient Funds

Your Raenest Virtual Card is linked to your wallet balances, so when you make a payment, we'll attempt to charge your wallets based on the spending priority you've selected. For example, if your spending priority is:

  1. USD

  2. GBP

  3. EUR

  4. NGN

We'll first attempt to deduct the payment from your USD wallet. If there's not enough balance, we'll automatically try your GBP wallet, followed by your EUR and NGN wallets, in that order.

If none of your wallets has enough available balance to complete the transaction, the payment will be declined.

Note: A $0.40 card decline fee will apply to declined transactions caused by insufficient wallet balances. To avoid this fee, ensure you have enough funds available across your wallets before making a payment.

2. Incorrect Card Details

If the card number, expiration date, or CVV are entered incorrectly, the transaction will fail. Always double-check your details before proceeding.

3. Incorrect Billing Address

You have two billing addresses associated with your Raenest USD virtual card:

  • A U.S. billing address

  • Your home country billing address

You can use either address to complete your payment, but make sure you're entering the correct postal code. You can find both addresses and the correct postal codes under Billing Address Info on the Cards page.

4. Daily or Monthly Spending Limits Reached

If you've hit your daily or monthly spending limit, your transaction will be declined. If you need an increased limit, please contact our support team.

5. Technical Issues

Sometimes, technical issues with the merchant's system, payment network, or the card provider can cause a transaction to fail. If this happens, try again later or contact support.

6. Restricted Websites

Your Raenest USD virtual card cannot be used for transactions related to:

❌ Gambling

❌ Money send

❌ Adult content

If the transaction falls under a restricted category, it will be automatically declined.

7. Restricted Countries

Transactions may be declined in the following countries due to restrictions: Belarus, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, Cyprus, Lebanon, North Korea, Libya, Myanmar, Russia, Syria, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe.

If your transaction fails and you’re unsure why, check the balance of each wallet, billing address, and card details first. If the issue persists, our support team is happy to assist.
