Investing in U.S. Stocks on Raenest.

Updated this week

Raenest Stocks lets you invest in U.S. stocks and ETFs directly from the Raenest app. You can buy, sell, and manage your investments, all in one place.

The feature is built for both first-time investors and users already familiar with stock investing who want a simpler, faster alternative.

Raenest provides the technology, while regulated third-party partners handle brokerage, custody, and trade execution.

Who can use the Stocks feature?

Any Raenest user who has completed identity verification can access the stocks feature. If your account is verified, you’re eligible to get started.

Every Raenest Stocks user gets one commission-free buy or sell trade each month. Once you use it, standard trading fees apply to subsequent trades for that month.

How to access Stocks

You can access Stocks in two ways:

  • Tap Stocks on the bottom navigation bar

  • Or tap the Buy stocks quick action

The first time you open Stocks, you’ll see a short welcome screen. After that, you’ll go straight to your portfolio.

Setting up your investment account

Before you can start investing, you’ll need to complete a one-time investment setup. This is required by regulations and helps us create your brokerage account. You’ll be asked to provide:

Employment details

  • Occupation

  • Employer (if applicable)

  • Source of income

  • Monthly income range

  • Liquid assets

Affiliations

You’ll need to confirm whether you:

  • Work with or are affiliated with a U.S.-registered broker-dealer or FINRA

  • Are a senior executive or own 10% or more of a publicly traded company

Agreements

You’ll also need to review and agree to the investment terms and disclosures.

For U.S. users

You’ll be asked to confirm your citizenship or residency status.

Once completed, your brokerage account is created and you can start investing.

Note: If you already provided employment details when creating a USD account, you won’t need to re-enter them. You’ll only complete the additional stock-related fields.

Understanding your Trading Wallet

Your Trading Wallet is a dedicated USD wallet used for stock investing.

  • You fund it to buy stocks

  • Proceeds from sold stocks settle into it

  • Dividends are paid into it

Funding your Trading Wallet

You can fund your Trading Wallet from any Raenest balance:

  • USD

  • NGN

  • GBP

  • EUR

The minimum funding amount: $2

Your trading wallet currency: USD

Fees

  • Funding from USD is free

  • Funding from other currencies may include a conversion fee

Buying stocks

Here’s how buying stocks works:

  1. Select a stock or ETF

  2. Enter the amount in USD

  3. Choose the wallet to pay from

  4. Review estimated shares and fees

  5. Confirm your order

Fractional shares

You don’t need to buy a full share. If a stock costs $100 and you invest $10, you’ll own 0.1 shares. This makes it easier to start small and diversify.

Selling stocks

To sell a stock:

  1. Select the stock from your portfolio

  2. Enter an amount or tap Sell all

  3. Review the details

  4. Confirm the sale

"Sell all" closes your position by selling all shares you own for that stock.

When are trades executed?

Buy and sell orders are executed during U.S. market hours:

  • 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET

  • 2:30 PM – 9:00 PM WAT (3:30 PM – 10:00 PM WAT during daylight savings)

You can place orders outside market hours, but they’ll only execute when the market opens. The app shows whether the market is open or closed.

Withdrawals from the Trading Wallet

When you sell a stock:

  • Funds go into your Trading Wallet immediately

  • You can use them to buy other stocks right away

  • You can withdraw them after the next market day (T+1)

Available to Withdraw

This shows the amount you can move from your Trading Wallet to your Raenest USD balance.

  • Minimum withdrawal: $2

  • Withdrawal fees: None

  • Withdrawals can only go to your USD balance.

Fees on stock trades

Each user gets one commission-free trade every month. After that, standard trading fees apply. Raenest charges a trading commission on every buy and sell:

  • 0.8% of the trade amount

  • Minimum fee: $0.75

If you’re buying from a non-USD balance, a currency conversion fee may also apply.

Dividends

Some stocks pay dividends. When a company pays dividends:

  • The payout is credited to your Trading Wallet

  • You’ll get a notification once it’s processed

A quick note on investing

Raenest does not tell you what stocks to buy or sell. We provide:

  • Access to the market

  • Helpful explanations

  • Curated categories to make discovery easier

Your investment decisions are always yours. Stock prices can go up or down, and investing always carries risk.
